Popular rising rap
stars, Olamide and Phyno are a delight to watch anytime. Together, they
are phenomenal. Last week, both artistes had promised expectant fans "a
finale before the finale' at the 9thleg of the Star Music Trek concert.
The event, which began at 7pm at the expansive LASU Museum Agege saw
headline artistes Tiwa Savage, KCEE, Olamide, Phyno, Obesere and
Crystals performing before the excited audience.
Compered by hilarious stand up comedian, Laff Up, the concert kicked off
with some of Agege's finest upcoming talents coming on stage to thrill
the crowd. Artistes like Osayi, IfyNye and Zdosa also put up a
superlative performance for the fans.
2011 winners of Star Quest, Crystals, made its 5th appearance at the
concert, performing a synchronized medley of some of the crowd's
favorites hits. The band, which had one of the best stage performances
of the concert proved their mettle ending their act on a highpoint.
Delectable songstress, Tiwa Savage, made her debut appearance on The
Trek this year in Agege to the delight of screaming fans. The beautiful
maven who also appeared on The Trek last year was well supported by her
gorgeous dancers throughout her performance.
Apparently, fans still cannot get enough of the Limpopo king, KCEE, who
stormed the stage with fellow artiste, Harrysong, to perform a pulsating
mix of his biggest hits. The star act, crowned his act with his hit
single Limpopo, which has been dominating the airwaves for many months.
'Man of the Year' Phyno, has gradually carved a niche in the hearts of
many of his fans ensuring that his every performance is one to savour
and remember. His fans who were eagerly awaiting him, were not
disappointed as he captivated the crowd from his very first verse.
Olamide has been enjoying a superlative year, what with his recent video
of Durosoke, which was released last week and the massive response his
songs have been receiving for many months now. His performance was worth
the long wait for his fans who were only able to catch a first glimpse
of him in Abeokuta during the 8th leg of the concert.
His duet with Phyno and upcoming rapstar XBUSTA, were some of the
highlights of the concert and sent fans reeling.
Fuji exponent Obesere, made sure he captivated the crowd with his
pulsating lyrics. His gorgeously attired dancers, held the crowd
spellbound, ensuring the concert ended on a high note.
The Star Music Trek has visited FESTAC, Lokoja, Owerri, Enugu Nnewi,
Aba, Nnewi, Asaba, Abeokuta and Agege in its national 10-city-10-week
tour with thousands of music fans entertained across the country.
A grand finale of the music tour will hold at the National Stadium,
Surulere in Lagos on August 10, 2013.
